Freelance Writer
Salary: $12.50/hr
Job Type: Part-time, up to 10 hours a week
Ginger is an arts funding start-up that is seeking up to two freelance writers to help with copyediting, social media posting, and features writing. Ginger is growing so there may be a more permanent opportunity in the longer term.
The Freelance Writer will report to the Creative Director and Founder for assignments, final approval, and posting. The ideal candidate has strong writing skills and knowledge of contemporary music/music history, and current events. We prefer a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, English, or a related field, and should be self-directed with strong time-management skills. Your writing should be clear, progressive, and purposeful.
Responsibilities:
Ability to do primary and secondary research
Editing on contributed writing from other staff for social media posts
Able to both work on assigned stories and also contribute story ideas
